3-Day Steppe, Sand & Sacred Lands
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar – Hustai National Park – Wild Horses – Nomadic Homestay
09:00 – Hotel Pickup (Ulaanbaatar)
Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive west to Hustai National Park.
Drive time: approx. 2.5 hours / 100 km
Upon arrival at the Hustai National Park entrance, we will have access to proper restroom facilities and visit the park’s information center. Afterwards, we continue to Sanj’s ger (nomads felt dwelling), where you will enjoy warm nomadic hospitality and a home-cooked lunch.
This is an exclusive experience hosted by Sanj, the Chief Park Ranger, giving us rare access to deeper areas of the park and exceptional opportunities for close wildlife viewing and walk through wilderness beyond regular tourist routes.
Visit the nearby Ungut Complex, a remarkable collection of ancient standing stone monuments dating back to the Turkic period, offering insight into Mongolia’s early civilizations.
Return to the family camp for a traditional Mongolian dinner, then relax and overnight in your private ger.

Day 2: Hustai – Elsen Tasarkhai (Semi-Gobi) – Khogno Khan – Camel Herder Homestay
Morning – Breakfast & Departure
After a hearty traditional breakfast, depart west toward the Elsen Tasarkhai semi-Gobi desert.
Drive time: approx. 3–3.5 hours / 180 km
Stop at a local roadside canteen for lunch.
Drive about 30 minutes to reach Uvgun Khiid, a historic monastery site.
Enjoy a scenic walk through:
Dramatic Khogno Khan granite mountains
Golden Ikh Mongol sand dunes
Walking distance: approx. 2-3 km / 70 minutes
Visit Bor’s camel-herding family and experience a memorable ride on two-humped Bactrian camels. Take in the striking contrast of desert dunes and mountain landscapes.
Enjoy a delicious home-cooked Mongolian pasta dinner, then stay overnight in a simple private ger hosted by the camel herder family.

Day 3: Khogno Khan – Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, begin the drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
