My Story

Hi, my name is Uugan-Erdene Kh, but most people call me Eric. I was born into a yak-herding family in the remote mountains of western Mongolia, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and the vast steppe. Growing up in a nomadic environment taught me resilience, respect for nature, and a deep connection to our traditional way of life.

Later, I was fortunate to receive a scholarship to study at North Central College near Chicago. My time in the United States was an unforgettable experience, and I remain deeply grateful for the people I met and the knowledge I gained there.

I am also a traditional Mongolian wrestler, a role that carries great cultural significance in Mongolia. Wrestlers are considered the embodiment of strength, discipline, and heritage, and this tradition has shaped my character and values.

For the past ten years, I have worked as a travel guide across Mongolia. Through these years of guiding, I have developed deep knowledge of the land, strong connections with local nomadic families, skilled drivers, and trusted camps across the country.

Today, I offer a limited number of seasonal expeditions from October to April, covering FALL, WINTER and SPRING. Each journey is personally designed and led by me, ensuring a small, authentic experience.

Through my tours, you will meet real nomadic families, learn how they adapt and survive in Mongolia’s extreme climate, and explore the country’s breathtaking wide-open landscapes.

My goal is simple: to share the true Mongolia — its people, traditions, and spirit — and give you an unforgettable experience of my homeland.
